Story Time

My name is Brian Moretti. I’m the maker behind MittenMade Leather. My journey into the world of leather craft began in 2020 during the pandemic. Like most of us, I was stuck at home and needed something to occupy all of my free time. One day I came across a YouTube video of someone making a leather wallet. I enjoyed it so much I watched another one, and another one, and then binged ten more. I was hooked. Leather crafting seemed so fun and accessible. It felt like a natural fit for my creative and obsessive personality.

Once I have an interest in something I have to learn everything there is to know about it. So I bought some cheap leather and basic tools and got to learning. Trying out new leather, making more cool things, and tinkering with new tools. It wasn’t long before I built up enough skill and confidence to want to share my love of the craft with the world.

I like owning things that are built well enough to last. You can’t find much of that nowadays with everything being made so cheap. But leather is different. Good leather can last decades. Leather goods made by hand with passion and care have such a special quality that you can instantly feel. That’s why I love it.
